Thames Police Museum – Wapping

The police museum at Wapping, not normally open to the public, opened its doors for the day on Saturday last, and played host to just under 400 visitors who pored over the many historical exhibits, some dating back to 1798 when professional policing in this country began.

For those who missed it, there is another opportunity to look round the place and wander down to the patrol boats on the pontoon, on the weekend of 17th and 18th September 2011. I will be there again – at least on the Saturday – with copies of The Watermen for sale – and for a chat with anybody who feels like stopping by.
